Labanga Lata (ଲବଙ୍ଗ ଲତା), also known as Labangi (ଲବଙ୍ଗି) in the Odia language, is a beloved sweet dish originating from the Indian state of Odisha. This traditional dessert is made by incorporating cloves into the round-shaped dough and deep-frying the dough in oil until it turns crispy and golden brown.
After frying, the lata are typically soaked in a sugar syrup, which infuses them with a sweet and aromatic flavor. Labanga Lata is a popular dessert or snack during festivals, weddings, and other special occasions in Odisha, and it is highly regarded by both locals and visitors to the region.
