This waterfall is a part of the Duduma River, which originates from the Eastern Ghats and flows through the district before reaching the Bay of Bengal. The Duduma river is a tributary of the Baitarani River, one of the major rivers in Odisha.

Joranda Falls is situated in a remote and picturesque location, surrounded by lush green forests and rolling hills.
