During the first three days, mother Earth is thought to be menstruating. Rajaswala refers to a menstruating lady, from which the word Raja comes from.
People believe, this celebration is only for ladies or girls, although it is for all Odia people. These three days should be enjoyed by everybody.
According to some stories, girls and women do not work during these three days and do not go barefoot on the ground.
Raja Pana (betel) is one of the most famous items in Raja Parba along with mango, jackfruit, sweets, podapitha, etc. Girls use to play doli during Raja.
