The Bhimkund Waterfall (Odia: ଭୀମକୁଣ୍ଡ ଜଳପ୍ରପାତ) on the river Baitarani is one of the falls in Odisha, located in the districts of Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj. This waterfall offers a wonderful natural surrounding surrounded by lush green vegetation.
According to mythology, Bhima, the second Pandava, used to bathe in this pool while the Pandavas were living in secret at Virat Nagar, which is thought to be the current Kaptipada.
The mighty Baitarani river offers two of the most stunning and terrifying waterfalls, Sanakunda and Badakunda, to nature enthusiasts.
Bhimakunda waterfall is around 40 kilometers from Karanjia, near Booring village, in Mayurbhanj's Thakurmunda P.S. The location can also be reached via Dhenkikote (20 kilometers) on S.H. No. 11, which connects Keonjhar and Panikoili.
The waterfall has a fantastic feature of providing tourists with an amazing experience owing to its vast vertically oriented valley and rapid river, which makes the atmosphere smoky.
The loud roaring sound of the waterfall adds to the attraction for travelers. In religious terms, this waterfall is regarded as a particularly sacred location.
During the annual Makar Mela event, a great number of locals congregate here. According to legend, the Pandavas were staying.
