Sapua Dam, Dhenkanal, Odisha

The Sapua Dam (Odia: ସାପୁଆ ଡ୍à­Ÿାମ୍ ବା ନଦୀବନ୍ଧ) is a small tourist destination in the Dhenkanal district of Odisha state in India. Sapua which means snake in Odia and the dam is curvy like a snake.

The Sapua dam is around 81 kilometers from Bhubaneswar. After 75 kilometers from Bhubaneswar, you could find one broken board which shows the distance of 6 kilometers and the direction towards the Dam.

The roads to the dam are not that straight roads though, but you could enjoy the little curves in between. This dam is a small dam yet beautiful and it really looks like a Snake Face with an open mouth and cold sweat Face.

Sapua Dam is an irrigation project situated in Nahada village in Dhenkanal district. The project is providing assured irrigation to 855 hectares in Kharif. The project is also facilitating pisciculture activities.
