Dutibahana Osha - ଦୂତୀବାହନ ଓଷା

Dutibahana Osha (Odia: ଦୂତୀବାହନ ଓଷା) is a festival in Odisha celebrated in the month of Ashwina (Odia: ଆଶ୍ୱିନ) according to Odia calendar, which is in the month of September and October as per the Gregorian calendar.

This festival is also known as Pua Jiuntia which is generally observed by mothers to invoke the grace of Lord “Dutibahan” for the long life and prosperity of their sons.

Dutibahana Osha Puja celebrated in the villages of Odisha

According to the Odia calendar, this festival is observed on the 8th day which means on the Ashtami (Odia: ଅଷ୍ଟମୀ) also known as Mulastami (Odia: ମୂଳାଷ୍ଟମୀ) from Indu Purnima or the Bhagabata Janma

On the day of Mulastami, women do fasts and don't drink water too. During the night they worship the Lord Dutibahana by offering different types of fruits, vegetables, etc.
